Gosh It's Been A Long Time!

I am so out of the blogging scene it makes me sad. I had so many issues with my computer and then started back to school. Yikes, I'm out of it. I wrote this post last night so I could join the fun again. I miss you guys! School has been really busy. I have 12 students. That doesn't seem like much but their needs are times three at least. Love them, but boy am I worn out. I could be a stay at home "pup mom" on some days. (I don't have children)
Seriously, I think I would miss teaching very much but it is so nice to have the time during the summer. I keep a much cleaner home, more rest, more fun, more creativity, more everything...
Sigh, enough of that. What to share??? Well, here's my front door. I painted it in the last month. It was red, but it had more of a blue base to it before I repainted it. I'm pleased with the results. I must say, red is not an easy color to paint for good coverage. Yikes, I was even painting on top of a red.
I made the wall pocket. It was originally a shabby white, and I sprayed it black. Then, I added the greenery. Over all I'm please with the total effect. Let me know what you think, please... I begging for comments. LOL. Have a good weekend. Thanks Kelli for hosting Show and Tell.

I think it looks great. I like red doors. Yes, those dark colors usually take several coats of paint but always well worth it. Proud of the work you do with the kids.

I have been seriously thinking about painting our front door red! And seeing yours has just about convinced me. That's pretty. Really, it is. And good tip about the blue base red - I have the worst color sense on the planet and you can just bet I would have picked a red with a blue base and would have been so confused when it didn't come out as true and bright as yours. lol Maybe I'll get around to getting that door done next week. My kids start back to school Monday so I'll have even more free time. Oh who am I kidding? The last two kids here at home are teenagers...it's not like a ever see them anyway. lol

Again, love the door!

I think the door is fabulous in that rich color. Enjoy and I hope when you are away from the classroom you can leave it all behind and rest...

I agree, your red door is fabulous. Very warm and welcoming. I like your wall pocket too. You could change out the ribbon and add a few colorful baubles or flowers maybe, for autumn, and then again for Christmas. Endless possibilities!

Trudi, the door as is fabulous. Nice work!!

Red is really a hard color to work with in painting. You would think it wouldn't be but oh well!

Have a restful weekend and I hope school will get a little easier for you!

I do love basic colors. Red is one great color for contrast in decoration and you did a wonderful job.
How is your son's husband? I know you are tired, what are you doing this coming holiday? I hope everyone is healthy and happy?
