Show and Tell Friday

Kelli host Show and Tell Friday, see sidebar for link. She has a blog called There's No Place Like Home. Please visit her. There are many participants each week for show and tell. It is a lot of fun to see what people treasure and why...

I'm showing my tomato plants this week. I am not a trained gardener, but have been very diligent in taking care of my small garden this year. Obviously the tomato plants are very happy where they are. They are almost as tall has dear hubby. We planted grape tomatoes and celebrity tomatoes. The grape tomatoes are starting to ripen in our area, Mid West. When we bought these plant they were three inches tall! We've had a blast watching them grow. Here are pictures.

Aren't these darling, you don't have to wonder where they got their name. PS, they are really good. I love gardening it's so rewarding when things go right. Do you enjoy gardening and why? Have a great weekend all.

Another note: I woke up this AM and looked out my window and all my Morning Glory vines are wilted and broke off; we had a lot of rain in the last day. Does anyone know why this happened? I'm broken hearted, this was the first year for them for me. *sigh*

Ok I'm green with envy, my tomatoes suffered terribly this year due to the drought and moving the garden to another spot that didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. I'm so glad to see others had better luck. Thank you for sharing.

I've got a brown thumb so I have no gardening tips. From the looks of your tomatoes you are a fine gardener. Blessings!

Trudi, you definitely have a green thumb!
I also love gardening - it always helps me to calm down after a long day at work.

Lovely heartfelt post!

Why I enjoy gardening?

When I garden, I am so free, my hands are on the ground getting dirty, playing, and I smile alot. When I garden I pray, sort through issues, reflect, sing, I energize myself.
Gardening is the best meditation along with walking for me.

Thank you for this post and the great question!
P.S. Morning glory is very fragil, talk to it, it may recover ;-)

Hee, Hee, I have a tomato on my show and tell too! I forgot to plant cherry tomatoes this year. Yours look great!

I can't imagine what happened to your morning glory. This is my first year of planting one and so far so good.

Oh, your tomatoes are beautiful, Trudi!! I have yet to figure out how to not kill a tomato plant..LOL I see lots of yummy tomato sandwiches in your future. :0)
I'm sorry to hear about your morning glories. Grace planted some and they aren't looking too good either. I'm thinking it might be the rain.
Have a great weekend!

WOW great looking tomatoes. We had the same thing happen to our hollyhocks as you have your morning glories. The rain just beat them down. We are hoping ours come back up next year. They had been so lovely :o(

Your tomatoes look great! It is a shame about your morning glories. I love them but can't seem to get them to start growing here.

Oh- what I wouldn't give to eat a good, homegrown midwestern tomato. We don't have a space large enough for a garden but we planted one little tomato plant in a pot this summer and we got a couple tomatos, but nothing like you. Enjoy!

Home grown tomatoes are just the best. Nothing like them, right!
I planted tomaotes also this year, but mine don't look as good as yours. LOL Ms Green Thumb.
